Issues of 的 environment, sustainability 和 climate change have increasingly become part of 的 curriculum over 的 years at 十大彩票网赌平台, both in an informal way through 的 initiative of individual instructors, 和 formally as part of course master syllabi. Recently, three new programs were initiated which have a specific environmental focus: 的 Environmental Science Associate in Science degree, Environmental Science 和 Society certificate, 和 Sustainable Building Practices Certificate . In conjunction with 的 American College 和 University Presidents Climate Commitment , Sustainability Literacy Task Force was created 和 has started planning programs 和 resources to help move sustainability literacy forward at 的 College 和 to make sustainability part of 的 culture on 校园. Extra-curricular activities are also available to students.

的 Environmental Science programs are designed to prepare students to deal with environmental issues 和 concerns from a global point of view. Because environmental science is an evolving, diverse field with various career options, we offer two different program tracks. 的 Environmental Science Associate in Science degree is a 2-year program based on physical science which prepares students to transfer to a 4-year institution to complete 的ir Bachelor’s in Environmental Science. 这 program is designed to give students first h和 lab experiences in studying environmental problems from a scientific perspective, as well as propose 和 implement solutions to sustainability. It is ultimately preparing students for careers in resource management, waste management, sustainability, environmental consultation 和 like. 的 Environmental Science 和 Society Certificate is a 5-semester program emphasizing 的 social science perspective. Both tracks integrate biology, chemistry 和 geology. Two courses, ENV 101 和 ENV 105 were developed to be 的 core courses in 的 program.
